We want you to know that even in the snow we’re still here at the GRASP office. Your high school GRASP Advisor will return as soon as the schools reopen.  Meanwhile, there are a few appointments left on Monday, February 8 with our in-house GRASP Advisor. If you want to book one of these appointments, or any appointment with our in-house advisor, call 527-7726 or email graspcentral@grasp4virginia.com.

Our in-house volunteer advisor, Bob Davis, is available every other Monday to meet with parents from any of our GRASP schools. He is a graduate of Vanderbilt University and holds an MBA from Northwestern. Bob has one son in college and another who just graduated, so he is familiar with the challenges of funding post secondary education.

Northstar Academy awarded the Compass Award for Advocate to Senator Walter Stosch, Chairman and Treasurer of the GRASP Board of Directors.  Two years ago, GRASP expanded advisor training to include post-secondary options and the associated funding for students with special needs, and at the same time placed an advisor, Paula Buckley, at Northstar Academy  We are proud that students with whom we worked at Northstar last year are now at J. Sargeant Reynolds Community College and Virginia State University.

Recently, as a result of our focus on special needs students, GRASP nominated Senator Stosch for the Compass Award for Advocate.   We were thrilled to receive notice in early January that he had received the award which will be given to him at a special awards dinner on January 29 at the Jepson Alumni Center at the University of Richmond.
